Discover Uni includes official statistics about higher education courses taken from national surveys and data collected from universities and colleges about their students. The Discover Uni dataset includes data from the National Student Survey (NSS), Graduate Outcomes (GO) and the Longitudinal Education Outcomes (LEO) data.

On Discover Uni you can see information such as:

  • student views of the course including how students rated the quality of the teaching on the course, learning opportunities, assessment and feedback, academic support, organisation and management, learning resources, learning community and student voice.
  • how many students have continued into their second year.
  • what jobs graduates have gone into after completing their degree
  • graduate earnings at 15 months, 3 years and 5 years after the course
  • graduate perceptions which show if graduates feel that their course is positively impacting their work after graduating.
  • qualifications and UCAS tariff points students had when they were accepted onto the course.

The data gives an insight from students who have experienced and graduated from the course to help potential applicants. You can use the Discover Uni course comparison tool to make meaningful comparisons to inform your decision making and help you to decide what to apply for.

The Discover Uni dataset includes information that providers submit about their undergraduate courses, as well as data from the following datasets:

The National Student Survey (NSS) is an annual survey which allows final year students to provide feedback about their experience at university or college. The results are used by universities and colleges to improve the student experience and can also help applicants to decide between courses.

The Graduate Outcomes Survey collects information from students 15 months after they finish their course. It asks them what they are currently doing, how much they are earning, and their perceptions of work following their graduation from their course.

The Longitudinal Education Outcomes (LEO) is a dataset of education records joined to tax and benefits data. This shows whether graduates were employed and how much they were paid. This information gives you an insight into students and graduates experiences of a course. This can help you to narrow down your options and decide which courses you want to apply for.

See about our data for further information.

Discover Uni also includes quality and standards information about universities and colleges which helps you to see how the university or college has been reviewed by the funding and regulatory body in their country.

This can be helpful to look at as part of your research, so you have all of the information you need to make the right decision about your future. See our quality and standards page for further information.
